Former Champion Ruled Out As WWE RAW Mystery Attacker

A former Tag Team Champion has been ruled out as the WWE RAW mystery attacker.

The ending to the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series featured a masked man entering the ring and taking out CM Punk with Seth Rollins’ signature Stomp. The mystery attacker resurfaced on the December 8, 2025, episode of WWE RAW and took out Rey Mysterio in the same fashion.

Speculations are running wild about the identity of the masked attacker, with former United States Champion Austin Theory being one of the suspects. Some online fans also brought former WWE Tag Team Champion Montez Ford into the mix, based on the masked man’s physique.

Montez Ford Is Not The WWE Mystery Attacker

However,  F4WOnline.com’s Bryan Alvarez has debunked the rumors while speaking on Wrestling Observer Live. He noted that while he doesn’t know who was behind the mask, he was told specifically that it was not Montez Ford.

“So, Monday, another mystery man showed up, and it was not Austin Theory. Now, if you go on social media, I swear to God, everybody was trying to figure out who the new mystery man was, based on his butt, and everybody concluded that the new mystery man was Montez Ford.

“So, I can tell you right now that I don’t know who the mystery man was on Monday. But I was told specifically it was not Montez Ford,” Alvarez said.

Fightful (via Fightful Select) also confirmed that Theory was not the man in the mask on Monday night, although it was him at Survivor Series.

Austin Theory was originally rumored to join The Vision and compete in the 2025 men’s WarGames match, but plans changed after Seth Rollins’ injury. Montez Ford has been absent from WWE main roster television since the October 10, 2025, episode of SmackDown. With fans heavily invested in the angle, it will be interesting to see how WWE uncovers the mystery behind the masked attacker.
