Collision Winter is Coming Results:

This week’s episode of Collision started 20 minutes late due to a college basketball game going into double overtime. It kicks off with a recap of the main event of Dynamite for the AEW World Championship between Samoa Joe and Eddie Kingston. After that recap, we are getting right to the action.

Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. Josh Alexander (w/ Don Callis)

  • The finish of the match saw Swerve Strickland hit Josh Alexander with Big Pressure to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

After the match, Swerve Strickland gets on the microphone and says the last time he stood in front of the people in Cardiff, he was the AEW World Champion, and it’s about time he gets back to that. Strickland says he didn’t come back to AEW to face off with the Don Callis Family, Hobbs, or Shibata. He came back for a shot at the AEW World Championship. Strickland says Samoa Joe’s days are numbered and declares himself a top contender for the title.

Grade: A-

Very fun match to kick off the show. We now have two men in Hangman and Swerve gunning for Samoa Joe and the AEW World Championship. I’m guessing this will lead to MJF returning and interjecting himself into this with a contract, and we get a four-way for the title at Worlds End. We’ll see if I’m right sooner rather than later.

Can The Elite take down the Don Callis Family?

We get a video package hyping up the match between The Elite and the Don Callis Family this Wednesday on Dynamite.

A toast from the Timeless Love Bombs?

Timeless Toni Storm is backstage. Storm says she hears the Babes of Wrath are going to have a celebration toast tonight, and they can’t have one of those without the Timeless Love Bombs. Mina Shirakawa comes in, and the two women make it clear we’ll see them during the Babes of Wrath’s celebration later tonight.

Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter vs. Sisters of Sin (w/ Thekla)

  • The finish of the match saw Jamie Hayter hit Julia Hart with Hayterade to score the pinfall victory for her team.

Winners: Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander

After the match, Hayter makes it clear to Statlander that she wants a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. Thekla is shown looming over both women as they leave the ring.

Grade: B

This was a good match. It was clearly done to set up the AEW Women’s World Championship match at Worlds End, which appears to be Statlander defending the title against Hayter and Thekla in a three-way match. I’m not sure if I would prefer the singles match between Hayter and Stat or the three-way with Thekla personally, but the aftermath of the match certainly teased the latter to me.

Is Thekla on the outside looking in?

Lexy Nair is backstage with Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander. Hayter makes it clear she wants a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship at Worlds End. Statlander agrees. Hayter promises the person she teamed with tonight won’t be the same person she faces at the pay-per-view. There was no appearance from Thekla here after teasing her for the bout in the previous segment. Very interesting…

Continental Classic Blue League: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Konosuke Takeshita

  • The finish of the match saw Claudio Castagnoli and Konosuke Takeshita wrestle to a time limit draw.

Winner: A draw

After the match, Castagnoli and Takeshita continue to brawl as referees try to separate both men.

Grade: A

The first match between the IWGP and CMLL World Champions didn’t disappoint. I’m not surprised that AEW chose not to put one champion over the other. I can’t imagine either company, even though they work together, would be overly thrilled about that. This was honestly one of the best draw matches I’ve seen in the history of the Continental Classic.

JetSpeed will collide

Lexy Nair is backstage with JetSpeed. Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey hype their Continental Classic match later in the show. Both men stress how important it is for them to get the win tonight. This match should be special.

Party time for the Babes of Wrath

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings out the first-ever AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, the Babes of Wrath. Willow Nightingale says the last time they were in front of this crowd in this building, she was in the ring with Harley Cameron. Nightingale says she kept hitting Cameron, but she kept getting back up, and that’s been the story of their partnership. Nightingale says there is no one else she’d rather tag with.

Harley Cameron teases who might be next to challenge for their titles, but is interrupted by the Timeless Love Bombs. Toni Storm asks the sickos of Cardiff to lend her their ears. Mina Shirakawa says they asked them for a fight to remember. Storm says they didn’t get the result they hoped for, but they gave them a fight to remember.

This brings out Mercedes Moné, who says there can’t be a championship celebration without the greatest champion in AEW history, her. Shirakawa tells her to shut up. Moné says no one tells her to shut up and says everyone in the ring is a loser. Storm challenges her to a match tonight, and Moné turns her down, burying Cardiff in the process.

Nightingale says Moné is only dodging them because she doesn’t have any friends. Moné says she doesn’t need any friends, but she’ll bring partners with her this Wednesday on Dynamite.

Who will compete in the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale?

Between these two segments, several names were announced for the upcoming Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale, including Ricochet, Brody King, Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Shelton Benjamin, and more. You can check out the current field in the embedded videos below.

Continental Classic Gold League: Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Kevin Knight

  • The finish of the match saw Speedball Mike Bailey hit Kevin Knight with the Flamingo Driver to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Speedball Mike Bailey

Grade: A

Fantastic matchup. What an amazing week for Speedball. Picking up huge back-to-back wins over Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight is very impressive. Bailey is now in the thick of the Continental Classic. While it’s been fun to see Speedball in JetSpeed, it’s even better to see him shining as a singles competitor. Loved this match!

The Death Riders are about to collide with the Don Callis Family

After the match, we get a promo from Kyle Fletcher, who says he doesn’t feel like celebrating after his match with Speedball. Fletcher reveals his next match against PAC. Fletcher says there’s been an unspoken agreement between the Don Callis Family and the Death Riders to stay out of each other’s business. Kyle says he doesn’t care if the entire arena is behind PAC; he is getting his momentum back.

We then hear from PAC, who says he knows Fletcher very well and calls his meteoric rise remarkable. However, PAC says he doesn’t care how brilliant he thinks his matches are, and he’s about to dip his toe into a very different pool. PAC says he’s a different breed, and soon Fletcher will know that.

TNT Championship: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Daniel Garcia (w/ Marina Shafir)

  • The finish of the match saw Mark Briscoe hit Daniel Garcia with the Jay Driller to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still TNT Champion, Mark Briscoe

Grade: B+

Tony Schiavone runs down the card for Dynamite: Holiday Bash while the Conglomeration celebrates in the ring as AEW Collision goes off the air.

AEW Collision Review:

This was a damn good episode of Collision. Cardiff was rocking, and it seemed everyone in the ring wanted to put on the best show possible. There was a lot of in-ring action on this show, and almost everything overdelivered.

We got a lot of build and hype for this Wednesday’s Holiday Bash special, and it should really help set the stage for Worlds End later this month. Can’t wait to see what happens.
