Tony Khan recently announced that AEW Dark is back tomorrow night with a one-time-only “Stocking Stuffer” special.
Over the weekend in Cardiff, Wales, prior to the taping of Collision: Winter is Coming, AEW President Tony Khan announced to the live crowd that Dark would return for one night only as an additional taping for the live crowd following Collision.
“And because I love Cardiff so much, I went to the great executives at Warner Bros. Discovery, the great company that powers the engine that makes AEW possible. I said, ‘Please, it’s the holiday season. For one night only, because there are hardcore AEW fans in Cardiff this holiday season, I want to bring back AEW Dark for one night only.’ And you know what they said? They said yes,” Tony Khan said. “So yes, yes, yes, yes. We’ll finish the night with a one-night-only holiday episode of AEW Dark tonight in Cardiff.”
But why did AEW decide to bring back the show for a one-off?
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the one-off special was, in fact, a Tony Khan call. With the idea of giving the Cardiff audience something unique, and allowing them to see more of the company’s roster that they wouldn’t have gotten without it.
