WWE Provides LA Knight Injury Update On RAW

If tonight was any indication, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be seeing LA Knight back on WWE programming anytime soon.

Last week on WWE RAW, The Vision destroyed LA Knight both in the ring and backstage. The show ended with Bronson Reed hitting Knight with a Tsunami on top of a car, effectively writing him off WWE programming for the time being.

While reports confirmed last week that Knight is locked into a long-term WWE deal and isn’t going anywhere, it might be a while before we see him again.

Tonight on RAW, Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett provided an update on LA Knight’s condition. It was announced that Knight had suffered a cracked sternum and that he’s on the shelf indefinitely.

A broken sternum can take anywhere between six to twelve weeks to heal. Whether a cracked sternum can be returned from in a quicker timeframe, we’ll find out soon enough.

Will time away from WWE hurt or help LA Knight?

Before being taken out by The Vision, LA Knight was defeated by Gunther in the finals of the Last Time Is Now Tournament. Knight tapped out to The Ring General, much like Cena did weeks later.

However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray didn’t care for the finish and stated on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio that he feared Knight could be heading into midcard obscurity.

“What’s next? Something completely in a different direction. You need to do something, and you need to do something quick. Otherwise, he’s going to kind of fade into midcard obscurity. When a wrestler has to rely on a tagline in the middle of a match, a huge match, a championship-esque level match, you’ve got to rely on that tagline; there’s something wrong.”
