Mike Tyson is grateful that Donald Trump softened the United States’ stance on marijuana.
On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order that rescheduled marijuana to a Schedule 3 controlled substance. Marijuana had previously been a Schedule 1 drug, classified on the same level as heroin, LSD, and Ecstasy. Schedule 1 drugs are substances with no accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.
Trump’s decision will now classify marijuana on the same level as Tylenol (with codeine) and anabolic steroids, which lowers the potential of abuse but allows it to be regulated.

Mike Tyson thanks Donald Trump for decision on marijuana
Mike Tyson thanked Trump for signing the order to reschedule marijuana as a Class 3 drug. Tyson is a major advocate for cannabis through his Tyson 2.0 brand. Tyson’s brand also spun off brands by Ric Flair and the late Hulk Hogan.
“Thank you @POTUS @realDonaldTrump for rescheduling cannabis. This decision reflects listening to people across the country and taking a practical step toward modernizing outdated policies,” Tyson wrote on Twitter/X. “It supports American workers, families, and businesses, and allows over 500,000 existing jobs to finally be counted.”
Marijuana is available for medical use in more than 40 states, and it’s legal for recreational use in 24 states. The pro wrestling world has also seen many advocates for marijuana and cannabis, including names like Rob Van Dam, The Godfather and Ric Flair, among others. In recent years, WWE has relaxed its stance on testing for marijuana.
