Seth Rollins has been out of action for the last few months. However, even though he hasn’t appeared in the ring, he still believes he is a rightful champion.
Speaking to Clutchpoints (via Fightful) in a recent interview, Rollins was asked if he had someone in mind he’d be going after when he returns. Rollins said he had no one specific, but more so a “thing” that he was going after.
“The primary [target] in my return will actually not be a person at all, it’ll be a thing. That would be the World Heavyweight Championship because I never lost the title, so I am rightfully the World Heavyweight Champion,” Rollins said. “I was stripped of that championship, and anybody who [is] in possession of that title, be it CM Punk, be it Bron Breakker, anybody who stands in my way, they will be dealt with.”
Rollins was attacked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in an October episode of WWE RAW. This came just a few days after he defeated Cody Rhodes in a match at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth. However, Rollins suffered a legitimate shoulder injury during the bout. It’s currently unclear how long Rollins will be out of action for. However, it’s rumored to be upwards of six months.
When he does come back, it seems clear Rollins will be after his former WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Currently, CM Punk is the reigning holder of the belt.
