Kane Reacts To Mick Foley’s Decision To Depart WWE

Kane has weighed in on the latest controversy involving Mick Foley and WWE.

Foley decided to cut ties with WWE over the company’s ties to Donald Trump. Announcing his decision on Facebook, the Hall of Famer said he will no longer represent WWE in any capacity and will not renew his Legends deal when it expires in 2026.

Mick Foley’s announcement earned praise from fellow pro wrestling legend and former WWE colleague Jim Cornette, who called Foley his favorite person in the world for standing up for his political beliefs.

“I don’t think Mick Foley’s on Twitter or I’d tag him but I want to state publicly that while I’ve always liked him, he has just become my favorite person in the world. I wish all the boys had his backbone and, more importantly, his morals,” Jim Cornette said in a tweet.

In a retaliatory move, WWE replaced Foley in their SuperCard game with Austin Theory. Foley’s “Saint Mick” character had been a Christmas fixture in the game for the past five years before this year’s mishap.

Kane speaks on Mick Foley’s decision to leave WWE

During a recent appearance on Newsmax, WWE Hall of Famer and Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, Glenn Jacobs, also known as Kane, shared his perspective on his former colleague’s controversial exit from the company.

“Well, certainly it’s no surprise,” Kane said. “I know where Mick (Foley) is at politically and we’ve had our discussions about politics and we’ve always been able to keep them civil and I wish that could happen more on the public platforms altogether.

“One thing is we live in a country where we are free to disagree about things, and I think Mick is wrong, but nevertheless, he’s entitled to his opinion. I will defend his right to say that, even if I do think he’s wrong and that’s the beauty of America. I wish that would kind of be all over the place as opposed to just wrestling.” [H/T: Fightful]

The White House’s official Instagram account recently posted a video featuring WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau sharing their advice on staying fit during the holiday season.
