The contract of a popular AEW star is set to expire soon, and it sounds like people in WWE can’t agree on whether to sign them or not.
Earlier this week, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select) revealed that Danhausen‘s AEW contract is set to expire in February.
With Danhausen’s very public friendship with current World Champion CM Punk, his ability to sell merchandise, and The Rock reportedly being a big fan of his, a jump to WWE appeared to be a slam dunk. However, that might not be the case.
On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Live on Fightful Select, the possibility of Danhausen signing with WWE next year was brought up, and it was revealed that people backstage of divided on bringing in the man who proclaims to be very nice and very evil.
“It’s an interesting one,” WrestleVotes stated. “I know people there want him to come over…but I know people there that aren’t so keen on him and his talents. So I don’t know where they’re going to stand when it’s time for him to come as a free agent.
“I’m sure there’ll be an offer. He’s talented, people like him, he’s over. I could see them making an offer, but I know some people there maybe just don’t get it, and that’s fair. We’ll see, I don’t think it’s a done deal yet.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
We imagine we’ll hear more about this in the weeks ahead.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
