Tony Khan Reflects On The Tragic Passing Of Brodie Lee

Tony Khan has shared an emotional message on the fifth anniversary of Brodie Lee‘s passing.

Jonathan Huber, better known as Luke Harper in WWE and Mr. Brodie Lee in AEW, passed away on December 26, 2020, at the age of 41 due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a rare lung condition. He left an everlasting impact on professional wrestling and on the lives of his friends and family, who continue to pay tribute to him in the years since.

On the fifth anniversary of Brodie Lee’s passing, AEW President Tony Khan took to X/Twitter to post an emotional tribute to The Exalted One.

“5 years ago today, the world lost Jon Huber, a great man known to fans as Mr. Brodie Lee + Luke Harper. His family came first, his loving wife Amanda and their sons Brodie + Nolan. He loved wrestling, + he was an amazing wrestler. He loved you fans. Please keep him in your hearts.”

Brodie Lee is survived by his widow, Amanda Huber, and his two sons, Nolan and Brodie Lee Jr, who was offered a contract with Tony Khan’s promotion after his father’s passing. The deal, which is more of an option than an obligation, becomes valid on his 18th birthday, provided he chooses to follow wrestling as a career.

Tony Khan Is Not The Only One To Pay Tribute To Brodie Lee

Apart from Tony Khan, Brodie Lee’s Wyatt Family and Bludgeon Brothers tag team partner, Erick Rowan, also shared an emotional message on X/Twitter, remembering his friend.

“Grief is a funny thing. It’s something that never goes away. Some days are good, filled with emotional memories, some not so good, filled with frustration. People can leave a lasting impression on others either for the bad or the good. JON was the latter.

“Can’t think of one person who had a bad thing to say about the wrestler, the father, the husband, or the man. He was the foundation of what I myself hope to be. 5 years has passed since we last talked on this physical realm. But you are part of my heart always. Love you forever brother…..”
