WWE‘s free agency storyline from RAW carried over to this week’s episode of SmackDown as more NXT stars prepare for the main roster.
Earlier this week on WWE RAW, NXT Superstar Je’Von Evans spoke with General Manager Adam Pearce before his match against Rayo Americano. Pearce informed Evans that he would like to discuss business with him following his match on the show.
It was later revealed on commentary that Evans is now a “free agent” in WWE and will be looking to sign with either RAW or SmackDown in the coming weeks. And after tonight, we now know he isn’t the only one.
Former NXT Champion Trick Williams is the latest WWE “free agent”
On tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, former TNA and NXT Champion Trick Williams appeared. Announcing himself as the latest NXT free agent coming to either SmackDown or RAW in the weeks ahead.
Williams appeared in General Manager Nick Aldis’ office with his feet on the table. Williams informed Aldis that RAW was ready to give him the bag and wanted to know if he was going to match it. Cody Rhodes enters the room to complain about Drew McIntyre, and Trick didn’t appreciate it. Williams runs down his list of accomplishments in NXT. Trick ends it by telling Rhodes that if Aldis makes the right decision, he’d better hold onto his title tight.
Funnily enough, it appears Trick Williams’ free agent storyline is somewhat of a shoot as Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Williams has yet to be officially listed internally on a brand. So it’s likely we’ll see the former two-time NXT Champion pop up on RAW in the weeks ahead to play up a war between the two brands vying for his services.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
