What’s the latest on Danhausen potentially landing in WWE once his AEW contract expires early next year?
There’s been a lot of discussion in recent weeks about the very nice and very evil Danhausen jumping to WWE when his AEW contract expires in February. Last week, it was reported that there were people divided in WWE over bringing the AEW star into the fold.
However, a new report suggests we could be saying NXTHausen sooner rather than later.
On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, it was reported that sources within WWE have confirmed that there will be interest in Danhausen when his AEW contract expires. With one source going as far as to say they believe he will thrive in the NXT setting.
Danhausen hasn’t appeared for AEW or Ring of Honor since his surprise one-off return at Final Battle 2024. Despite having no intentions to use him, AEW chose to extend Danhausen’s contract for injury time. This was done after he requested that the company not extend his deal due to his injuries.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
Joey Janela believes Danhausen is AEW’s biggest fumble
Despite Danhausen’s incredible ability to sell merchandise, AEW didn’t use him much following an injury that sidelined the talent for several months. Many fans blamed this on the performer’s very public friendship with CM Punk, but that has never been confirmed.
Last month, during a social media question-and-answer session, former AEW star Joey Janela described Danhausen as AEW’s biggest ball drop, tweeting out:
“Biggest ball dropped by AEW. Best merch, biggest potential merch seller, most marketable, could’ve been AEWs R truth would’ve figured out a spot for him for life,” Joey Janela said in a post.
