AND NEW — MJF is once again the AEW World Champion.
MJF won the AEW World Championship in the main event of the Worlds End pay-per-view. He defeated the previous champion, Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland (who did a Green Lantern tribute), and “Hangman” Adam Page in a four-way match.
The finish of the match came when Hangman Page set up a Buckshot Lariat on Samoa Joe, who was staggering in the middle of the ring. MJF ran in and shoved him out of the way, then kicked Hangman in the balls before rushing towards the ropes. MJF pulled Joe back on the apron and hit the Heatseeker for the pinfall win.
The win makes MJF a two-time AEW World Champion. His first reign lasted 406 days and ran from November 2022 to December 2023. Ironically enough, Samoa Joe was the man who beat him to end that initial reign.
Samoa Joe’s AEW World Championship reign, his second, ends at 34 days. Joe had only won the title in November when he beat Page at AEW Full Gear.
MJF celebrated with his newly won title in the ring and talked trash to the camera before posing on the entrance ramp to end the show.
AEW Worlds End featured plenty of crazy moments, including a bloody battle between Darby Allin and Gabe Kidd, Jon Moxley seemingly turning babyface after winning the Continental Classic, and more.
