Charlotte Flair recently opened up about her partnership with Alexa Bliss, and why it seemed weird at first, but now almost seems like something that can’t be broken up.
Speaking to ClutchPoints in a recent interview, Flair brought up the odd couple pairing. She revealed that Bliss was the one who pitched the partnership. The duo wasn’t supposed to be together for long, either. However, Flair noted that the fan’s reaction was something that made it impossible to split up.
“We just got to a point where it was like, This feels really good, and it would feel really bad if we break them up, because it’s one thing to have odd couples, but I also think there was a little bit of hesitation because she [Bliss] is so beloved, whereas my character, at that point, was not,” Flair said. “It was like, Will this even work or translate? And it did. I think our real-life chemistry was able to shine on-camera, and then as we were connecting, it’s like, Why would we break them up?”
Bliss and Flair’s unlikely partnership originated in June 2025. The pair would go on to become the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions in July. All told, as a duo, the pair’s reign lasted 100 days. They then lost the titles to the Kabuki Warriors in November.
