Finn Bálor: Bullet Club’s Payoff Was More Valuable Than A Dollar Amount

Finn Bálor believes that what the Bullet Club accomplished was a bigger payoff than any amount of money.

Speaking with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on his What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast, Finn Bálor looked back on his time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as part of the Bullet Club. He recalled taking a call from the current NJPW foreign liaison officer and former referee, Tiger Hattori, about a royalty check for $118.

Agreeing with Cody Rhodes about how the Bullet Club created an everlasting impact in pro the wrestling industry, Finn Bálor noted that what the faction managed to achieve over the years was a bigger payoff to him than any financial payout he could receive.

“But I think that’s the payment, right? Because I was in NXT about like eight months, and I get a call from New Japan. It’s like, ‘Hey Devitt-chan, we got royalty check for you, man. I’m like, ‘Whoa, I got a royalty check from New Japan?’ I said, ‘Tiger, thank you so much, how much am I due?’ He goes, ‘Ah, like $118.’ I’m like, ‘$118?’ He goes, ‘Yeah man, we need your bank details.’ I said, ‘Tiger, give it to charity. I don’t need it. I’m good.’

“So I feel like the payoff with Bullet Club, for me, at least, was not financial. But, I feel like it was way more valuable than any dollar amount that I could have been given, from just what it’s given to the business,” Finn Bálor said.
