WWE star CM Punk never dreamed of being a Disney guy, but now he’s a Zebro.
Outside of pro wrestling, CM Punk has been expanding his work in the acting world, with recent projects taking him (and his voice) to the silver screen. During an interview with ABC News, Punk revealed whether or not movie acting had been a long-time aspiration of his.
“You can for sure expect [to see me on the big screen more],” Punk said. “I can’t say it was a dream. I’m just a guy that takes every single opportunity that comes my way. I never woke up and said, ‘I want to be a Disney princess,’ but here I am, and I am now. Thank you very much, Zebros.”
The “Zebros” mention comes in relation to Zootopia 2, in which Punk starred as Zebro Zebrowski, a Zebra cop, alongside Roman Reigns, who voiced the character of his law enforcement partner, Zebro Zebraxton. Zootopia 2 was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, the same studio that created films such as Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, all of which spawned famous Disney princesses.
Reflecting on his voicework with Reigns, Punk noted that their chemistry in a WWE ring transferred over there as well.
“I think the on-screen chemistry that we share in WWE obviously translated. Somebody saw it. Somebody thought we would be a good fit for the Zebros. So we’re doing something right,” Punk said.
Zootopia 2 is currently finishing up its theatrical run. A Disney+ streaming date has not been announced yet, although it is expected to premiere sometime in mid-March 2026.
