CM Punk and AJ Lee get emotional while discussing the loss of their beloved dog, Larry.
In late 2025, WWE stars CM Punk and AJ Lee said goodbye to their pet dog, Larry, whom they first welcomed into their family in 2015. According to Lee, Larry served as an “emotional support” for her, and in later years, she did for him as well. That’s why his death hit her especially hard.
“We don’t have kids. We don’t have a lot of family. It was just us and Larry for a decade,” Lee said in season three of WWE Unreal. “So it was like losing a family member. Larry was this emotional support for me, and the past few years, as he turned to a senior dog, I became his emotional support human. He never left my side. Larry got sick and it took him pretty fast.”
Lee and Punk rescued Larry from PAWS Chicago in February 2015, with $51,000 later being raised for Chicago’s homeless dogs and cats in honor of him. According to Punk, Larry was a “very special little dude” in his life, so much so that Punk commemorated him with a special patch at the 2025 Survivor Series event.
“He came with a bite on his record, so he was a little criminal. He was a perfect example of a little misfit that needed to find his people,” Punk said while fighting back tears. “No different than me. No different than AJ. They warned us. They said, ‘If he gets another bite on his record by law they have to put him down.’ That’s why I was always so protective of Larry…That Survivor Series, very last minute, that day, I just asked to get a patch put on the jacket that said ‘Larry’s Dad.’ It might not seem like a big deal, but it’s a big deal to me. I love the little dude, so I just wanted him to be with me that day, that’s all.”
Punk went on to compete in the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. Days later, he and Lee revealed that their beloved dog had then crossed over the rainbow bridge.
