Tommaso Ciampa Announces His WWE Departure

Tommaso Ciampa is saying goodbye to WWE.

Ciampa issued a statement on social media about his WWE status and announced that his contract will be ending very soon.

“In the very near future, my contract with the WWE will officially come to an end. I’d like to thank every single person who contributed to the last ten years of this incredible journey,” Ciampa wrote.

Ciampa has been with WWE since 2015; this was his second stint with the wrestling promotion. During this ten-year run in WWE, Tommaso Ciampa was a two-time NXT Champion and won the WWE Tag Team Championship and NXT Tag Team Championship. His partner for all three respective reigns was his DIY teammate, Johnny Gargano.

Ciampa went on to thank everyone he worked with in WWE, including his “black and gold family” and his fans. Ciampa said that he considers himself lucky because he spent his life living his childhood dream as a pro wrestler.

“I’m an incredibly lucky person, one of the few who has spent his entire adult life living out his childhood dream,” Ciampa wrote. “And while that dream continues to evolve, I will continue to chase it.”

Ciampa closed his message by announcing he is available for “all appearances.”

Tommaso Ciampa had been working with Gargano on the SmackDown brand since mid-2024.

His last match for WWE came on the December 15, 2025, episode of WWE SmackDown in Hershey, Pennsylvania. DIY lost to the unlikely duo of Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov on the show.
