Former WWE Star Says Their AEW Departure Wasn’t Negative Until It Made Headlines

A former WWE star believes her AEW departure was amicable until the dirt sheets made it look negative.

Former WWE Superstar Nixon Newell and her tag team partner, Miranda Alize, made headlines last year when they left an AEW Collision taping on November 8 due to a reported disagreement with their booking. However, during her recent appearance on The Wrestling Classic, Newell shared that her exit from the company was not negative until the “dirt sheets” made it look controversial.

“When we left, it wasn’t like we stormed out. It was an understanding on both sides of ‘Yeah, okay, cool. No worries. We get it’ and then we were like, ‘Okay, cool. Thank you for the opportunity.’ It was never anything negative until the dirt sheets made it negative,” she said.

The former WWE star then noted that there was no real argument or bad blood with AEW management over their exit.

“It wasn’t even a disagreement. We were given what we were given. We did it the week before and we were promised something else. They said ‘Okay.’ It didn’t come to fruition and we just said, ‘Okay, cool’ and they went ‘Okay, we totally understand. Thanks for coming. We totally appreciate it.’ It was very civilized on both sides,” the former WWE star said. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]

Nixon Newell also clarified that “there were no negative feelings on either side.” The former WWE star also noted that she doesn’t have any ill will toward Hyan and Maya World, who signed with AEW after replacing her and Miranda Alize in their planned match against TayJay the night they left.
