MJF Points Out ‘Demeaning’ Part Of His Promos That Kids Are Emulating

MJF shares an interesting observation about young wrestling fans trying to emulate him.

AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman recently appeared on WDW News Today to discuss professional wrestling, his love for theme parks, and his personal likes and dislikes.

During the interview, one of the hosts mentioned “Rowdy” Roddy Piper as one of the greatest talkers in wrestling history.

Staying true to his on-screen persona, MJF agreed with the host and used the moment to confidently put himself over before pointing out a “demeaning” element of his promos that young wrestling fans have begun copying across social media.

“Let’s be honest, you’re absolutely correct. The funny thing is, and a lot of wrestling fans still say this to this day, they feel like I’m kind of a mixed bag between Piper and Flair. The way I talk is very Piper-esque, and the way I present myself, people feel, is very Flair-esque.

“As the years go by, though, I’ve started noticing little things kids are doing to emulate me. When I talk, I throw around the word ‘bud’ a lot. I don’t know why, I just do. Some people think it’s demeaning, but I think it’s funny.

“I’ll hear little kids cutting promos on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, saying ‘bud’ while rocking the Burberry scarf, the three-piece suit, and the Dynamite Diamond Ring,” MJF said.
