Becky Lynch will defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against AJ Lee at Elimination Chamber on Feb. 28, 2026, after officially accepting the challenge on the February 9 episode of WWE RAW.
The announcement came moments after AJ Lee’s surprise return reignited a rivalry that had been simmering since late 2025.
RAW opened in Cleveland with Becky Lynch heading to the ring, only for AJ Lee to make her presence felt alongside CM Punk.
The interruption didn’t sit well with “The Man,” and the tension escalated quickly once AJ skipped her way to the ring and the verbal jabs started flying.
Lynch compared Lee to a “little chihuahua,” while Lee reminded her she already holds wins over Becky at WarGames and WrestlePalooza — score one for AJ’s receipts.

AJ stated she was there to support Maxxine Dupri in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, but the conversation soon turned personal.
Lee referenced costing Lynch the title at Madison Square Garden, prompting Becky to ask what it would take to finally get rid of her.
That question turned into an answer when the champion offered a match at Elimination Chamber — and AJ quickly talked her into making it a title bout.
The stakes are significant. Becky Lynch is a record-setting two-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion, having reclaimed the title from Dupri on Jan. 5.
AJ, meanwhile, already owns a submission victory over Lynch from their mixed tag match at WrestlePalooza, giving her momentum heading into Chicago. Call it a clash of generations, or simply two sharp tongues and sharper elbows colliding at the worst possible time.
Elimination Chamber takes place in Chicago, a city Lee has deep ties with, adding extra electricity to an already volatile matchup.
Reports suggest this may not be the final chapter, with WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas looming large. For now, though, Becky has agreed to put her money where her mouth is — and AJ is ready to cash the check.
