AEW Dynamite on February 18 took a dramatic turn when Hangman Adam Page confronted AEW World Champion MJF and laid out a challenge that could permanently alter his own future.
Earlier in the night, following Jon Moxley’s win in the AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match, Page addressed the fallout from Grand Slam: Australia. After earning the No. 1 contender spot by defeating Andrade El Idolo, Page made it clear that if MJF walks into Revolution as champion, he plans to “end” him.
Later, with no physicality allowed ahead of their March 15 title clash at Revolution in Los Angeles, both men met in the ring for a tense war of words.
Hangman Puts AEW World Title Eligibility on the Line Against MJF
MJF mocked Page, dismissing his two previous wins as “lucky shots” and claiming he is the true “main character” of AEW. He questioned Page’s mental state and suggested the pressure of chasing the world title again could break him for a third time.
Page fired back, admitting he sees parts of himself in MJF — desperation included. He said their rivalry has always been about more than gold. “As much as everyone wants the title, we’ve always needed it,” Page stated, framing Revolution as the final chapter.
Then came the twist.
With fans chanting “Texas Death,” Page proposed a Texas Death Match at Revolution. MJF immediately rejected the idea of adding a stipulation to his world title defense. But Page sweetened the pot in the most extreme way possible.
If MJF agrees to the Texas Death Match and Page loses, he vowed he will never challenge for the AEW World Championship again.
MJF didn’t accept on the spot, saying he needs one week to consider the offer. Still, as Page exited the ring, the champion looked far less confident than when he entered. At Revolution, it may not just be about Cowboy S**t — it could be career or nothing.
