Drew McIntyre has addressed the recent WWE RAW segment involving CM Punk and Roman Reigns. While the personal shots did not rattle him, something else clearly did.
On the February 2 edition of RAW, the WWE World Heavyweight champion suggested that Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns might choose McIntyre as his WrestleMania opponent because he would be “the easier pick.” McIntyre responded days later on SmackDown. The Scotsman fired back in a promo where he claimed he could beat Roman without The Bloodline by his side.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, McIntyre made it clear that the verbal jabs aimed at him were not the issue.
“Say whatever you want about me. I can protect myself,” he said. “They weren’t even that bad.”

According to McIntyre, what truly struck a nerve were remarks that made the WWE Undisputed Championship and SmackDown feel secondary.
“That’s the part that more got my attention,” he explained. “It was the stuff about the title and SmackDown and making it feel a little less than when they’re such big superstars. Just focus on the title and each other.”
McIntyre added that one of them even defended him during the exchange, which is why the personal angle did not linger.
However, the perception that SmackDown was being framed as second-tier led him to deliver what he described as a “Braveheart-like speech” the following Friday.
He said he was “legitimately upset” and hoped the locker room would respond by proving that SmackDown is “the A-show.” Drawing a comparison to The Undertaker’s leadership in past years, McIntyre emphasized accountability behind the scenes. He noted he is usually quiet, but will not tolerate the brand’s reputation taking a hit.
As tensions between RAW and SmackDown continue ahead of WrestleMania season, McIntyre has made one thing clear: the shots at him rolled off his shoulders. The shots at his brand did not.
