Happy Valentine’s Day! Tonight’s episode of AEW Collision is going to be a big one, with two big championship matches on the table. The AEW World Trios Championships will be up for grabs, as will the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. Elsewhere in the cards, the Death Riders take on The Don Callis Family, Thunder Rosa goes up against Julia Hart, and more.

AEW World Trios Championships: Jetset Rodeo (Hangman Adam Page, Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) (c) vs. The Demand (Ricochet, Kaun & Toa Liona)
- We’re kicking off the night with the AEW World Trios Championships on the line. In the end, it’s the reigning champs who come away on top due to some chaos. Late in the match, Jack Perry’s music hit as Ricochet was going for a Spirit Gun on Page. The match ends with Hangman Page and Ricochet getting into it. Ricochet thought he had sent Page over the ropes and onto the ground, but Page caught himself on the apron. As Ricochet went back to face Perry, Page used the chance to get a Buckshot Lariat in for the win.
Winners – Jetset Rodeo
Grade: B+
A really solid start to the night. Perry’s distraction was good, and any match that features guys like Page and Ricochet is bound to be an exciting watch.
Backstage, FTR walks up on The Rascalz. The group disapproves of The Rascalz’s smoking tendencies, and The Rascalz challenge them to a title eliminator match. FTR essentially said they’d think about it, and would see if they really wanted a fight.
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Swirl (Blake Christian & Lee Johnson)
- This was an absolutely quick match in both the literal and figurative sense. The stars are hitting moves left and right, but in the end, the Bucks take it, as they hit a Doomsday device on Lee Johnson, which sends him flying into his own partner. They then hit Blake Christian with the BTE Trigger for the win.
Winners – The Young Bucks
Grade: B
A solid match all around, but really made up for it with that awesome ending. Sending Johnson flipping onto Christian was an awesome way to close out the match.
CMLL World Heavyweight Championship: Claudio Castagnoli (c) vs. Josh Alexander
- The CMLL World Heavyweight title is on the line, and Claudio Castagnoli wasn’t letting go of it. In a big back-and-forth match, Castagnoli came away with the win and retention of his belt. He hit Alexander late with a big giant swing after eating a German suplex and avoiding a big hit in the corner. He then hit the Neutralizer for the win.
Winner – Claudio Castagnoli
Grade: B+
Another great match, even if Claudio winning felt a bit more predictable than anything else.
Megan Bayne vs. Becca
- This one is over pretty much immediately. Bayne dominates the match, and wins with a Liger Bomb after just a few minutes.
Winner – Megan Bayne
Grade: C
This was basically just a squash match. Nothing more, nothing less.
Tomasso Ciampa is backstage with Lexy Nair, talking about Kyle Fletcher taking the TNT Championship to Australia. Ciampa says when Fletcher gets back, he wants his title back.
The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC, & Wheeler Yuta) (w/ Marina Shafir) vs. The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Mark Davis, & El Clon)
- In a match that was totally indicative of the groups going at it, The Don Callis Family comes out with a win. Although the Death Riders went all out, it wasn’t enough as Takeshita picked up the win for his team. He ended the match after Mark Davis attempted to bring a chair into the ring but had it stolen by Marina Shafir. In the ensuing chaos, Takeshita got into it with Yuta, and hit him with a massive forearm and Raging Fire to win.
Winners – The Don Callis Family
Takeshita and Moxley once again face off in the ring after the match. This time, though, Yuta and Davis come in and cause even more chaos. Takeshita and Yuta go at it, while Moxley and Davis do as well. Moxley then hits Takeshita with a Paradigm Shift, and leaves him laying in the ring.
Grade: A
Some might find these stables a bit overdone now, but the talent involved is simply just too entertaining to really keep down. Moxley and Takeshita need to go at it again, too, and hopefully soon.
Backstage, the Babes of Wrath are talking about their multiple title defenses in the last week, and how they all seem to involve Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne. They said if the two want to keep coming after them, they’ll simply keep beating them.
Julia Hart vs. Thunder Rosa
- Another really quick match. Rosa comes away with the win after countering a moonsault by getting her knees up on Hart. She then hits the Fire Thunder Driver on her opponent for the win.
Winner – Thunder Rosa
Thekla is in the crowd here, and after the match goes in on Thunder Rosa on the mic. While Rosa is distracted, Julia Hart tries to ambush her with a blindside attack, but Kris Statlander runs in to make the save.
Grade: C+
A good match, I suppose, but much more there just to keep building up the rotating feuds involving Thekla. We’ll see more of that soon in more meaningful ways, hopefully.
Backstage, Private Party, the Bang Bang Gang, Dalton Castle, The Outrunners, and Anthony Bowens are all having a fun partying time. Soon, though, they realize a big problem…there’s no women around. Bowen cheers for that, getting a loud laugh from the audience, and vows to continue the party.
As Tony Schiavone and Excalibur are announcing some future matches, Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors interrupt things. Kidd challenges Orange Cassidy to a match anytime and anywhere, and the pair say they will get revenge on Cassidy for what he did by getting involved in their business.
Title Eliminator Match: The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) vs. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) in a Title Eliminator Match
- In the final match of the night, The Rascalz earn the shot they so desperately wanted. They come away with a big win after the Young Bucks get involved. The Bucks came down to try and cause chaos. Cash Wheeler grabs a chair and chases after them, which leads to Dax Harwood getting hit with a superkick and the Hot Fire Flame as The Rascalz win.
Winners – The Rascalz
After the match, GoA runs down and gets into a brawl with the Young Bucks, causing even more chaos. Stokely Hathaway throws powder into the face of Papa Buck, while also dragging Malachi into the ring. Jack Perry tries to come down and help, but his hit with a Spirit Gun by Ricochet, who also came down to get involved. The Bucks and Rascalz then go look at Malachi as the show closes.
Grade: B+
Some great spots here, but the end was clearly the big angle of the match. The Rascalz being legit contenders for the tag titles is great news, and it’ll be interesting to see what FTR continues to be up to as they now get even more involved in things.
AEW Collision Review
Overall, this was another solid show. AEW has clearly made it a mission to keep beefing up the Saturday shows, and it shows so far.
