WWE Mystery Crate Could Be Linked To Gunther, Says Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer believes the mystery WWE crate could have something to do with Gunther.

On the February 16 episode of RAW, a mysterious crate appeared during a backstage segment featuring General Manager Adam Pearce. The large wooden box was labeled, “Deliver to WWE. Do not open until 2/28/26,” prompting Pearce to question what was inside.

After initially telling the delivery driver to take the crate to SmackDown, the box resurfaced on the February 23 episode of RAW. This time, Pearce instructed the delivery person to ship it to Chicago, where he and Nick Aldis plan to unveil its contents.

Many fans believe the crate could signal the return of Chris Jericho. The former ROH World Champion has been absent from wrestling television since wrapping up his title program with Bandido last year. Others have suggested the crate could tease the arrival of Danhausen.

Tommy Dreamer theorizes Gunther’s involvement after WWE RAW angle

During a recent episode of Busted Open After Dark, former ECW World Champion Tommy Dreamer weighed in on the speculation surrounding the RAW mystery crate. He suggested it could be tied to Gunther, describing the angle as “old school” and something that would align well with The Ring General’s character.

“Gunther needs something and something big, and I only feel there’s only two more players left on that field to be Gunther ready,” Dreamer said. “And I’m just talking about his spot on WrestleMania, I’m not talking about moving forward past all that…is it a returning WWE legend? I don’t think, because he already retired, The Undertaker. I’m not even going into any speculation, I don’t think that’s happening. I don’t know if Kane had a final match.

“There’s a lot of talk about final matches and where that can go for people, which is smart. It is a key thing to get men or women a last match, because hey, we never know when it is. But this, with Gunther, where the hell is this going to take him? I don’t know. I really thought it would be him or Dom, but more so Gunther would be locks for the Chamber. And now that he’s out, where does that lead him?” [H/T WrestlingInc.com]

Gunther attempted to hijack AJ Styles’ tribute on WWE RAW but was ultimately thwarted by Dragon Lee. Fans can catch up on everything that went down on the show here.
