AEW Star Teases ‘Freedom’ Amid Speculation About WWE Debut

Amid speculation surrounding his WWE debut, an AEW star is teasing freedom after the promotion added injury time to his contract.

Signing with AEW in early 2022, Danhausen caught the wrestling fans’ attention with his unique character. However, he has appeared only sparingly on television. Reports noted that he had requested his release in August 2025, but the promotion added injury time to his contract, locking him down until 2026. The company reportedly enforced the option even after he requested not to do so if they didn’t have anything creative for him.

After going with Chris Jericho, fan speculation currently links Danhausen to the WWE Elimination Chamber mystery crate angle. However, AEW still lists him on its roster page. Now, amid all assumptions, Danhausen is teasing “freedom” through some cryptic tweets on X/Twitter.

He posted an image of the Genie from the 1992 animated film Aladdin, from the scene where he gets freed at the end. He also posted an image of the song Freedom Slam, probably suggesting that his time in AEW is finally coming to an end. He also posted the lyrics from the song “No Heroes” by the metalcore band Converge.

While nothing is confirmed so far, fans will have to wait till the Elimination Chamber PLE to find out if Danhausen makes his WWE debut and if he’s indeed connected to the mystery crate angle.
