AJ Styles is now a retired wrestler, but recently opened up about two former All Elite Wrestling stars he wishes he could’ve gotten in the ring with.
During a recent appearance on the Talk’n Shop podcast alongside his former Bullet Club members Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, Styles opened up about some AEW-turned-WWE stars he wished he could’ve faced earlier in his career.
“Penta’s up there. Just because I never had the opportunity to do it, you know, and he’s such a great guy. He’s so good. I would love to been able to do that,” Styles said (via Wrestling News). “But there’s always going to be a couple of guys that be like, ‘Oh, man. Dang it. I missed that one…’ Yeah, Rey [Fenix] is pretty awesome too…Rey’s definitely another one I wish I would have been able to get in the ring with. Those guys are freaking…they’re so good.”
Although both Penta and Fenix have made their way to WWE, Styles never got the chance to have a proper match with either. Styles did get a chance to team up with Penta, though, teaming up with Dragon Lee to take down The Judgment Day back in October.
