Title changes happen all the time in WWE, but on the March 2 episode of WWE RAW, it seemed like Danhausen’s curse cost Dominik Mysterio his Intercontinental title.
Before Mysterio’s match against Penta, Danhausen had a run-in with The Judgment Day backstage. The group didn’t take him seriously.
Dominik and the rest of the group made fun of Danhausen and his over-the-top personality, which led him to “curse” Mysterio.
At the time, it seemed like a joke. By the end of the show, it didn’t feel like one.
Later that night, Dominik defended his Intercontinental Championship against Penta with Finn Balor and JD McDonagh at ringside. The momentum kept swinging between the two men.
However, the man with no fear started overpowering Mysterio at the end. And when Mysterio asked for some help from his Judgment Day colleagues, Balor stopped McDonagh, saying that Mysterio himself wanted to finish the match on his own. And without any outside help, he lost the title.
Danhausen’s ‘Curse’ Mentioned After Dominik Mysterio Title Loss On WWE RAW
After RAW ended, Finn Balor posted his reaction on X– “Boy that escalated quickly.”
Mysterio was also upset about Balor’s actions, and he posted some photos on his Instagram stories where he could be seen listening to Ashanti’s “Foolish” in his car. Mysterio captioned the picture, “How I feel trusting finn.”
Now, Balor mentioned the “Danhausen curse” directly. He tweeted, “I think we all need to discuss the ‘curse’ that was put on @DomMysterio35 by @DanhausenAD,” joking that Danhausen’s backstage moment may have led to Dominik losing the title.
Maybe he was kidding. Maybe he wasn’t.
The Judgment Day has already been dealing with tension within the group for months. Dominik Mysterio’s loss and the ‘curse’ surrounding them could make things worse.
