EC3 says there’s more to the story about him being “blackballed” from major wrestling promotions.
Former TNA and NWA World Heavyweight Champion EC3 recently appeared on the WrestleShadow podcast. During the interview, he opened up about his final run with WWE and his status with other major wrestling promotions. EC3 made a comment that he’s probably blackballed from most major promotions because they couldn’t handle his “authentic truth.”
“I’m also probably blackballed from most of them because people can’t handle my authentic truth, and that’s fine,” EC3 said.
Now, EC3 has clarified that statement and claims his words were taken out of context.
EC3 isn’t blackballed; he’s been building
EC3 issued a statement in the form of a carousel post on Twitter/X, claiming that he was making a sarcastic remark that was not interpreted correctly. He went on to say that he doesn’t think he’s been blackballed and continues to put in work on his independent wrestling promotion, Exodus Pro.
“If you believe reporting like this, you are re(dacted),” EC3 wrote. “I do not believe I am blackballed. What I do believe is that wrestling media still can’t grasp tone, context, or the difference between a sarcastic aside and a human being filing a grievance online. Built different. Obviously.”
EC3 then listed some other things he’s said “publicly and seriously,” including his claim that he was “97% charisma and 3% body fat” and the greatest living NWA Champion of all time.
“Blackballed? Please. The only thing my balls are is sunned,” he added. “No. I have been ‘building.’ Quietly. Developing talent. Crafting Exodus Pro as a prestige independent. Working on a ‘creative conclusion’ to The Top 1% that will blow ‘wrestling brains loads.’ Blackballed implies someone has power over me. Name one.”
EC3 then invited fans to ask questions when he streams live on the Studio 1 Sports YouTube channel.
EC3 had recently been with the National Wrestling Alliance, where he won the company’s World Heavyweight Championship and National Championship. He announced his departure from NWA in January, ending his four-year tenure with the company.
