TNA iMPACT Results

The Hardys vs. Sinner and Saint

  • The finish of the match saw Jeff Hardy make Judas Icarus tap out to the Spinal Destination for the win.

Winners: The Hardys

After the match, The Hardys aren’t done, as Jeff plants Icarus with a Swanton Bomb. Williams helps Icarus to his feet, and both teams then shake hands as a sign of mutual respect.

Grade: B+

Short but sweet. The Hardys have all the momentum heading into Sacrifice. But was that Swanton Bomb necessary? It also seemed a bit out of character for Jeff to attack someone who was already down and after the match. Icarus got up immediately after taking the move, so maybe I’m overthinking it — or perhaps a heel turn is looming.

Another former TNA Knockouts appear

Gia Miller is backstage with The Elegance Brand. The Personal Concierge takes a shot at ODB for showing up last week on TNA iMPACT, while the Knockouts Tag Team Champions have some choice words for Mickie James. The Personal Concierge hypes up Mr. Elegance’s iMPACT in-ring debut next week.

As Heather and M proceed to insult Miller, they are interrupted by former Knockouts star Goldy Locks, who confronts The Elegance Brand for disrespecting Miller. Mr. Elegance tries to mock Goldy Locks, saying, “Didn’t you used to work here when I was like four?”

Goldy Locks fires back with a fitting reply, telling Mr. Elegance to be quiet because the adults are talking, prompting The Elegance Brand to walk out.

Indi Hartwell in action

Hartwell picks up the win over Kelsey Heather with Hurts Donut. After the match, Hartwell says she came to TNA to win the Knockouts Title, but the person holding the championship right now doesn’t deserve it.

Indi Hartwell challenges Arianna Grace to a match, prompting the TNA Knockouts World Champion to appear. Grace mocks Hartwell, telling her to get in the back of the line because many women have already made their case for a title shot.

Indi criticizes Arianna for manipulating her father to secure the title match in the first place. She claims she’s on a whole different level than Grace and says that sooner or later, she will win the Knockouts Title.

The Hardys, The Righteous & The Nemeths

The Hardys are backstage with The Righteous. Matt thanks Vincent and Dutch for everything they’ve done for them so far. Vincent and Dutch reference Jeff attacking Icarus with a Swanton Bomb after the match. Matt says they’re just giving young tag teams a chance.

The Righteous hype up The Hardys until they are interrupted by The Nemeths. Nic Nemeth mocks the newfound alliance between The Hardys and The Righteous. Vincent warns that they better watch their mouths, or they’ll have trouble with The Righteous.

Trey Miguel, BDE and Rich Swann vs. Order 4

  • The finish of the match sees Trey Miguel hit John Skyler with the Lightning Spiral for the win.

Winners: Trey Miguel, BDE and Rich Swann

After the match, Mustafa Ali slips Trey Miguel his International Championship, teasing a future title match between the two. Back in the ring, the winners celebrate their victory to cheers from the crowd.

Grade: A-

Two things I’d like to point out: Order 4 got a new theme song, and Mustafa Ali cut his signature ponytail. Perhaps the latter is the price to pay for losing the guitar case casket match against Elijah. Ali has been a longtime favorite of this writer, and seeing him freshen up his character a bit is a change I can get behind.

As for the match, it was explosive.

Daria Rae has a warning for Mike Santana

Mike Santana is sitting backstage, waiting for Daria Rae. The S.U.I.T. warns the TNA World Champion that he will be stripped of his title if he lays a hand on Steve Maclin. Santana remarks that it seems Daria was hired to make people’s lives miserable.

Santino Marella shows up and gets into a squabble with Daria. Steve Maclin appears and engages Santana in a tense staring contest as they all head to the ring for the next segment.

Indi Hartwell gets attacked

TNA World Champion Arianna Grace is backstage with Stacks. Grace complains about the Knockouts lining up to challenge for her title. The pair spots Indi Hartwell nearby.

Stacks whispers something into Grace’s ear, then tells the person talking to Hartwell to go away. He distracts Hartwell long enough for his fiancée to strike her with the title belt.

Santino Marella shows up, orders Stacks to leave the building, and calls for medical help.

We hear from Steve Maclin

Steve Maclin is in the ring. He says it’s good to be back on a Thursday night on iMPACT. Maclin pulls out a piece of paper to read his “apology.”

He starts by thanking Daria Rae for reinstating him, then shifts to addressing his actions toward Tom Hannifan, mocking him for failing to take a punch to the gut and reminding the audience why Tom is behind the commentary desk while Maclin is a former world champion.

Steve says backstage politics are what cost him his career before. He then focuses his attention on Mike Santana, who is standing in the crowd. Maclin brings up Santana’s troubled history with addiction, accusing him of using it and his father’s voice recordings to gain sympathy.

Maclin makes it personal, bringing his own deceased father into the feud. He says Santana is lucky for the time he got to spend with his father, because Maclin can’t even remember his father’s voice.

Maclin caps off the promo by promising to win the TNA World Championship from Mike Santana.

AJ Francis vs. Elijah

  • The finish of the match saw Frankie Kazarian distract Elijah long enough for AJ Francis to hit the Down Payment chokeslam for the win.

Winner: AJ Francis

Frankie Kazarian and AJ Francis tag on Elijah before Home Town Man shows up to make the save. The segment ends with HTM checking on Elijah while Kazarian and Francis trash-talk from the outside.

Grade: B+

Good action. AJ Francis continues to impress this writer — taking the Drifter Destroyer at 300 lbs is no joke. Frankie Kazarian is hilarious on commentary. The post-match save from Home Town Man suggests we’ll see a tag team match between the four men on a future episode of TNA iMPACT.

Eric Young with a message for Leon Slater

Eric Young picks up a recorder to leave a message. He references his attack on Leon Slater from last week and says he hopes Slater is okay, since they have a match for the TNA X Division Championship coming up at Sacrifice.

Rosemary Vignette on TNA iMPACT

The vignette also features Johnny Swinger and JDC, who’s wearing a T-shirt that says “retired.” Dango appears to be taking Sinner and Saint under his wing after their loss at the poker table. The vignette ends with a familiar face showing up as Allie (aka The Bunny) apparently rises from the dead.

Ricky Sosa vs. Brad Attitude

  • The finish of the match saw Ricky Sosa plant Brad Attitude with the Blue Thunder Bang for the win.

Winner: Ricky Sosa

Absolutely incredible debut for Ricky Sosa on Thursday night iMPACT. I’m glad TNA kept his banger of a theme song. For those unaware, Sosa went viral for his entrance some time ago, which was re-shared by Muscle Man Malcolm. Imagine Sosa on an international WWE PLE, vibing with the fans for his entrance. The sky seems to be the limit for this kid, who is making waves at just 21 years old.

Next week on TNA iMPACT

The following matches will air next week on iMPACT.

  • Home Town Man vs. Frankie Kazarian
  • Angel Warriors vs. Arianna Grace & Dani Luna
  • Mr. Elegance makes his in-ring debut
  • Jada Stone vs. Elayna Black
  • Moose vs. Brian Myers
  • The Righteous vs. The Nemeths

Moose (with Alisha Edwards) vs. Cedric Alexander – Atlanta Street Fight

  • The finish of the match saw Moose spear Cedric Alexander through a table for the win.

Winner: Moose

Grade: A-

Moose sends a clear message to The System with a huge win over Cedric Alexander. The match featured several cool spots, including Cedric powerbombing Moose onto a trash can. I still feel like Alisha Edwards could turn against Moose when he goes one-on-one with her husband, Eddie Edwards.

Overall Grade: A-

I really enjoy this week’s episode of TNA iMPACT. The show felt solid from top to bottom. The highlights for me were the six-man tag team action, Ricky Sosa’s in-ring debut, and the main event Street Fight. TNA also appears to be consistent with past storylines, such as Allie still having the wound from when her throat was sliced years ago.

That’s it for tonight, and I’ll be back with next week’s coverage of TNA iMPACT.
