Aleister Black has been back with WWE for some time now, but recently opened up about how he feels seeing his friend Brody King in All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking to The Stunner in a recent interview, Black was asked about King. King, a former member of Black’s House of Black stable in AEW, is now enjoying his own successful run throughout the company. Black noted that even though he may have left the company, he hasn’t stopped talking to King.
“That is the one thing that I said to him. This was not a done up and walk away kind of thing,” said Black. “It was a very thorough conversation between me, Nate [Brody], and Buddy. They were in agreement; we felt that we were hitting a wall constantly. I said to him, ‘I think once I go one direction, you will eventually see a big explosion in regards to how you are being perceived.’ I am glad that we see that now because the whole reason why I initially told Tony [Khan, AEW owner] about Brody was because I already saw that.”
Black said that he always knew King could be good in AEW, and that he often found himself having to tone down the star, but now he can go and be his own star.
“I knew how good he could be. I had to tone him down a little bit initially because he is a big human being. I would say, ‘I would like for you to be more effective. One elbow from you equals dude on the ground and not getting back up.’ He picked up on that tremendously. He is a good dude. I have a lot of love for him. We fight like brothers, and I am very happy for him.”
