MJF prevailed over “Hangman” Adam Page in a brutal Texas Deathmatch at AEW Revolution.
After earning the opportunity to face MJF for the AEW World Championship at Revolution, Adam Page put his ability to challenge for the title ever again on the line, in exchange for a Texas Deathmatch stipulation. MJF agreed, provided he could add his own stipulation, decided via coin flip. However, Tony Khan approved the Deathmatch stipulation after Friedman attempted to use a rigged coin.
The two stars took each other to their limits in a brutal match at the main event of AEW Revolution. It turned out to be a bloody affair as they went to extreme lengths in their efforts to walk out of the PPV as the World Champion. They used all sorts of weapons, including barbed wire, a stapler, broken glass, a broken mop, a barbed-wire-wrapped chair, tables, a tubelight, skewers, a chain with a double dog collar, and a barbed-wire-wrapped board.
MJF drove a syringe through Hangman’s cheek
However, one of the gnarliest spots of the match saw MJF driving a syringe through Hangman’s cheek. Page also made a reference to MJF’s Dog Collar match against CM Punk at Revolution 2022 by introducing a chain with double dog collars and locking himself and Friedman in them.
Both stars refused to stay down even after taking heavy punishment, including after going through a production table off the entrance stage.
The final moments of the match saw Hangman Page trying to take out MJF with a buckshot lariat. However, the Salt of the Earth knocked him off the apron and strangled him by hanging him over the ropes with the chain. Page spat blood on the camera as he passed out. The referee finished the ten-count, and MJF retained the title.
With the loss, Hangman Page can never challenge for the AEW World Championship as long as he lives. His Texas Deathmatch record dropped down to 5-2, and this is the first time he’s lost the match with the world title on the line.
MJF celebrated by standing over Hangman Page, who was strapped to a stretcher, to end the show.
AEW Revolution also witnessed surprise appearances by Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Kenny Omega, and Ronda Rousey.
