AEW is doing everything to keep the excitement going after Revolution. Now, it has added a big tag team title match for AEW Dynasty. On the March 18, 2026, episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage made it clear that they are coming for the titles currently held by FTR.
The duo announced they will face FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Dynasty.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage To Challenge FTR for AEW Tag Team Titles
This week’s Dynamite featured the main event match where The Young Bucks teamed up with Jack Perry to face the trio of Kazuchika Okada, Rocky Romero, and Trent Beretta (Don Callis Family). The team of Bucks and Perry attained the win.
After that, The Young Bucks talked about their recent loss to FTR at Revolution. Nick Jackson said the loss really hurt, especially since they had their families there expecting a win. Matt Jackson also shared how embarrassed he felt, though his father reminded him of their legacy as one of the best tag teams ever.
The Young Bucks said they will bounce back and go for another title run. But before they could say more, Copeland and Cage interrupted.
Copeland praised The Young Bucks but also made things personal. He talked about how FTR attacked him before and how it affected him and his family. He mentioned his wife, Beth Phoenix, and said now that she is recovering, he wants payback by taking the titles from FTR.
Cage added his thoughts, too. He joked a bit about winning gold but made it clear that this match is about proving they are one of the greatest teams ever.
Things then got violent when FTR rushed to the ring. A fight broke out between the three teams. Copeland and Cage, along with Bucks, got rid of FTR, and the tag team titles were left in the ring. After that, both teams held on to the title belts in a symbolic tug-of-war moment. However, The Young Bucks decided to leave the belts with Copeland and Cage.
With history, personal animosity, and championships all involved, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage vs. FTR feels more than just a title fight.
AEW Dynasty is set for April 12, 2026, in Vancouver.
