Ted DiBiase Jr. is teasing a WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend appearance. The tease comes a few days after his “not guilty” verdict in the Mississippi welfare funds scandal.
On Friday, March 20, 2026, a jury found Ted DiBiase Jr. not guilty on 13 charges related to the Mississippi welfare funds scandal. Now, five days after his acquittal, the former WWE Tag Team Champion is teasing an appearance at WrestleMania 42. He appeared in the background, speaking to someone on the phone as his defense attorney, Scott Gilbert, was in the middle of an interview on the Clay Edwards Show Podcast.
Ted DiBiase Jr. said, “April 19th. Vegas,” and his attorney then added, “April 19th? Alright, let’s book it.” The date coincides with Night Two of WWE WrestleMania 42. This made wrestling fans suspect that he could be the one behind Randy Orton’s mysterious phone call.
However, it causes more confusion since CM Punk indirectly confirmed that his World Heavyweight Championship match against Roman Reigns will main event Night Two of WrestleMania 42. Ted DiBiase Jr.’s tease might indicate that the promotion has given that spot to Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship match. The company hasn’t confirmed the official lineups as of this date.
It will be interesting to see if Ted DiBiase Jr. will show up in some capacity during his former Legacy teammates’ showdown at WWE WrestleMania 42. However, this is likely just a tease on DiBiase’s behalf.

Following his acquittal in the Mississippi welfare funds scandal, Ted DiBiase Jr. took to X/Twitter to post a statement. DiBiase expressed his gratitude to Eric Herschmann, who was part of his defense team.
