CM Punk and Roman Reigns are set to face off at WrestleMania 42, and now, we know exactly when that match will be.
During an interview with the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Punk spoke with O’Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson about the match. In a surprise reveal, Jefferson noted that he’s heard from sources that Punk and Reigns will headline the show’s second night, on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Punk didn’t exactly confirm or deny, but he spoke about the match as if it were happening on Sunday.
“I currently don’t feel any more pressure to perform night two than I did night one,” said Punk. “Now, maybe that’ll change. I think if it does, it’ll be incremental. I don’t differentiate between the the two.” Punk’s comments echo that of ones he made earlier this week, noting he views both nights as equal main event opportunities.
Currently, the only confirmed match for WrestleMania 42 is Punk and Roman’s bout. Liv Morgan, who won the Women’s Royal Rumble, will also have a match. While she hasn’t chosen an opponent yet, she seemed to hint that she’d be going after Stephanie Vaquer.
CM Punk and Roman Reigns got into a heated promo battle on Monday night, but the show also featured a pretty funny form of censorship by Punk himself.
