Jim Ross Pitches Unique Role For John Cena In WWE

Jim Ross wants to see John Cena take on a unique role in WWE.

After retiring at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December, John Cena has confirmed his next WWE appearance. In a video message, the 17-time world champion revealed that he will serve as the host of WrestleMania 42.

“Ah, retired life in the sun. I’m kidding! Check out the backdrop. I’m shooting a movie for Netflix called One Attempt Remaining that you can see when it comes out,” Cena said. “I’m also on the road… which is ironic because there’s a road to WrestleMania going on, and Hollywood is really close to Vegas.”

“Rumor around this town is WrestleMania needs a host. Well, I’m already on that road,” Cena added, “so I will see you at WrestleMania.”

Jim Ross wants John Cena on WWE commentary

Speaking on a recent episode of Grilling JR, legendary commentator Jim Ross pitched the idea of WWE placing John Cena on the commentary desk.

“I’d like to hear John’s commentary. He’s smart, he’s got a way with words. I’m curious as to how he might do in that role.

“There’s no doubt in my mind he’s got the talent for it. But I don’t know if he would be content with that or not.

“But he would do a good job, no doubt about that in my view,” the WWE Hall of Famer said. [H/T WrestleTalk]

WWE WrestleMania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19. WrestleZone will provide live coverage of the event on both nights.
