TNA’s Nic Nemeth wants an NFL legend in his corner when he gets payback at Rebellion.
In a digital exclusive footage from TNA Sacrifice on March 27, Ryan Nemeth found his brother, Nic Nemeth, lying unconscious backstage after getting attacked by a mystery assailant. Now, the former TNA World Champion has issued a challenge to the person who attacked him to meet him face-to-face in the ring at the upcoming Rebellion event.
However, Nic Nemeth won’t be alone. The event will take place on April 11 in Nemeth’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and he has invited Cleveland Browns legend Bernie Kosar to be in his corner during the confrontation.
“There’s nobody that embodies the spirit of the city of Cleveland more than Cleveland and Cleveland Browns legend, Bernie Kosar. Bernie, you’re a hero to so many of us. You’re a hero to the city of Cleveland, and I think you’re the exact right person to be in my corner, to have my back as you had Cleveland’s for all these years,” the TNA star said.
TNA’s social media post said that Kosar will be in Nemeth’s corner. However, a follow-up post says Nemeth “formally invited” Kosar to the event.
“Will Kosar come to Rebellion? Nemeth has told close friends that, yes, Kosar 100 percent will be in his corner at Rebellion,” TNA said.
Bernie Kosar played 12 seasons in the NFL, including for the Cleveland Browns from 1985 to 1993. He’s still widely regarded as a legend in Cleveland. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys in 1993 and won Super Bowl XXVIII as the team’s backup QB.
Kosar recently had a life-saving liver transplant. Speaking to Fox 8 News’ I-Team, the NFL legend expressed excitement for his recovery and gratitude for his second chance at life after undergoing the procedure in November 2025. It will be interesting to see how TNA books his appearance at Rebellion.
