Jade Cargill responds to criticism that she skipped the line and got skyrocketed to the top in WWE.
During her recent appearance on the Joe Budden Podcast, WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill addressed the criticism that she walked over the other talent to get to the top in the promotion. Fans have always pointed this out after she skipped NXT and debuted straight on the main roster after leaving AEW.
Jade Cargill says she does what the company expects from her and that no wrestler would refuse the opportunity she received.
“I do what I’m told. At the end of the day, me being skyrocketed to the top, that’s a lot on my shoulders, too. And people sit back, and they go, ‘Oh sh*t, she got this,” like, who in the hell is gonna say no?” Jade Cargill asked. “Nobody’s gonna say no. They’ll go, ‘Hell yeah, give it to me,’ and that’s a lot on my shoulders because I have to go out there and I have to perform.
Jade Cargill says it’s not easy being on top
Speaking further, Jade Cargill says being in a top position in WWE is not as easy as people think, and that she has to continue performing at that level while dealing with all these criticisms.
“It’s not a cakewalk that people think it is, and I have to be able to have tough skin and deal with the critics and all the stuff that’s gonna come with it. People think it’s so easy to be at the top, and they’re like, ‘Oh, you should be able to handle this.’ I’m a freakin human. I put on my pants just like everybody else. I just gotta go out there and do the damn thing. So I couldn’t care less. Guess what? I’m getting paid,” Jade Cargill said.
Cargill is gearing up to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42.
