Shotzi Knows The Perfect Role For Danhausen In WWE

Shotzi loves what WWE is doing with Danhausen, and she has the perfect role in mind for him.

Shotzi Blackheart spoke with WrestleZone ahead of her appearance at MLW’s Fantastica Mania event on April 12. The former WWE star signed with MLW last month, explaining that it was a no-brainer decision for her.

During the conversation, Shotzi also reflected on her time as host of WWE NXT’s Halloween Havoc. Blackheart left WWE last year, but she believes the company has a great opportunity to use Danhausen in a similar role to keep the spooky element of its shows.

“He’s just such a great character to have there. He’s adding such a fun layer at WWE, and I feel like they’re using him great. A lot of people had a lot to say about his debut, but I thought it was perfection. His entrance was everything to me. His wife even got involved in the choreography of all of that, and I thought it was just perfect.

“I was like, ‘Clearly you guys don’t know anything about Dracula because hello, he got shipped in a crate.’ This is so Dracula,” she explained. “He’s gotten over and he’s been hilarious backstage and he’s just working so well with everyone. So yeah, I’m proud of him. I’m happy that I got to have a couple matches on the indies before he got the call. I think that he will do really awesome. I hope that they have him host Halloween Havoc; he’s the perfect person to take my place in that [role],” she added. “I’m really excited to see what he does.”

Pro wrestling needs to be fun

Shotzi agreed that pro wrestling needs comedy as much as it needs athletic skills and drama. It is a combat sport on one level, but the beauty of pro wrestling is that you can try anything to try and entertain your audience.

“That’s what’s so great about pro wrestling, is you can literally do anything. So to take away the fun out of it, I’m just like, well, if I wanted to just watch fighting and seriousness, I could just watch the UFC. You know what I’m saying?” Shotzi said. “So yeah, we need that fun back in wrestling. We cannot take pro wrestling so seriously.”
