Alba Fyre loves Robin Williams and one of his most memorable movies, but that fandom is attached to an unfortunate fact about the comedy legend’s death.
Former WWE star Alba Fyre recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard at WrestleMania 42, before her unfortunate WWE departure. Fyre, now once again using the name Kay Lee Ray, was on the floor speaking about Williams’ 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire, which saw the comedy legend play a divorced man who adopts the fake identity of an elderly British nanny to spend more time with his children.
Kay Lee Ray said she loves the film and Williams, who unfortunately died on her birthday in 2014.
“I love Mrs. Doubtfire, I love Robin Williams. I grew up with a lot of Robin Williams, especially that film,” she said. “A really sad fact: he died on my birthday. He died on my birthday and that’s so heartbreaking, but yeah, love his films.”
Alba Fyre loves funny wrestling
Alba Fyre’s most recent work in WWE saw her aligned with Chelsea Green. This allowed to present a more comedic take on her work. The former Green Regime member said it’s possible that Williams’ work played some role on her physical comedy, noting Jim Carrey as another childhood influence.
“Well, maybe actually. I’ve never thought about that. But people like him, Jim Carrey, there’s a few comedians. I do love funny wrestling,” she noted. “Like I love being serious too, but getting the timing right for comedy and wrestling, it has to be perfect or you can just lose it. So yeah, maybe it has actually crossed over a little bit.”
Kay Lee Ray is a free agent and she is expected to make her in-ring return soon. While she is not advertised, many fans believe that could happen on June 5 for Pro Wrestling Eve, as Molly Spartan teased facing off with her during a recent promo.
Mrs. Doubtfire is available to stream on Hulu.
