Rosemary is having fun introducing herself to a whole new audience on AMC.
The longtime TNA Knockout has been entertaining fans in recent weeks with a “Project Lazarus” storyline that has seen her visit the Undead Realm. That jaunt has resulted in revisiting the seven deadly sins, as well as the returns of Abyss and Allie. Rosemary tells WrestleZone’s Ella Jay that AMC is the perfect fit for her persona, noting that they won’t back off on “all the chaos and madness and cinematic fun.”
“We are with a new audience now on AMC. There are a lot of new potential hive-lings out there. Perhaps a little bit tenuous, perhaps a little bit trepidatious,” Rosemary explained. “[They are] not sure if they want to cross that threshold into the Undead Realm and join the freaks and weirdos and have some fun. We’re just trying to convince them.”
Rosemary is very happy that Project Lazarus has lived up to her original vision. Not only were Abyss and Havok returning a nice surprise, but she also got to build the world out, highlighting how the Undead Realm is a little more “populated” than they’ve shown on TNA TV so far.
Rosemary comments on Abyss’ TNA return
Abyss, who hasn’t been seen on TNA TV since 2019, made a cameo appearance on the April 9 episode of Impact. Abyss (Chris Park) has been working with WWE as an agent, so that likely has something to do with it, but Rosemary shared who else she wanted to do something nice for.
“We don’t usually like doing nice things for James [Mitchell], but every now and then, we’ve got to throw him a bone, don’t we? It was so good to see Abyss back. And we don’t want to deny him a chance to speak with his father. So really, it was more for Abyss than it was for James. But if we’re truthful, it was for the fans. Again, we mentioned, with the long term memory, sometimes the fans just need to be rewarded for paying attention and remembering and keeping these stories as dear to their heart as we have.
“Abyss and James Mitchell were one of the reasons that when we saw TNA, we stayed with TNA. We stuck with it in 2005 because they spoke to us. To have them as part of our story, to have their closure involved in our new beginning, in our chapter, is quite frankly, it’s poetry.”
Rosemary wants more cinematic fun on TNA Impact
Rosemary has been reunited with Allie, but she doesn’t want the “Undead Realm” adventures to stop there. She wants to keep entertaining people outside of the ring, too, and says constantly reinventing yourself is a great way to stand out and command attention.
“We definitely want more cinematic fun. Go back to the days where we had a little bit more dramatic moments, a little bit more outside of the ring. It shakes it up,” she explained. “The show doesn’t look all the same. It’s not all the one garage back area and then the ring setting. Anytime you can switch up backgrounds or switch up settings, it makes people pay attention. It makes people sit up and go, ‘This looks different, what’s going on?’ And we like being different.”
Rosemary noted that sometimes, different doesn’t hit the landing. However, that’s ok because you were at least willing to take a chance.
“There’s so much room to play and have fun and to try different things. We’re very excited with that, especially with AMC.”
