Ric Flair says he ‘didn’t like’ Charlotte Flair’s WrestleMania 42 match
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ric Flair opened up about his thoughts. He said he didn’t like the match at all. He explained that Charlotte Flair belongs in the main event scene.
“I didn’t like her match at all, and I think that Ashley needs to be. And I know she enjoys the relationship with Alexa, but alas, if Ashley is not in the title picture right now in my life and as a spectator, and I meet a lot of people, a lot of athletes.”
“I travel around the world without her. In the main event, in a singles match, the match she had with Rhea Ripley last year or two years ago they’ve never had a match like that ever in the history of women’s wrestling.”
“And Rhea can go as well. So I’m putting them both over. Rhea won the match, but there was no winner or loser. That suplex off the second rope, the German come on, please, doesn’t happen in real life.”
He explained that he feels proud of everything she has achieved. He said she built her career on her own. “She has accomplished so much and has become she’s beyond great. And everybody wanted to say, ‘Oh, Ric Flair, Ric Flair.’ She did it on her own. I had very little to do. We talk about it. The only time we ever have an argument in life is when we talk about wrestling. And I’m just proud of her. And every time I get to see her and if that entrance wasn’t the greatest entrance of all time, tell me what was.”
