Ric Flair has weighed in on WWE’s creative future. He offered a notable name should leadership ever shift. Nevertheless, his comments came with a clear caveat rather than a call for immediate change.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Flair addressed ongoing discussions around WWE’s creative direction and the pressure that comes with the role currently held by Triple H.
Ric Flair suggests The Undertaker as WWE’s next creative top mind
During the interview, Flair pointed to The Undertaker as his choice to step into a top creative role. That is, if circumstances ever required it.
Referencing The Undertaker’s recent behind-the-scenes work in AAA, Flair suggested that the veteran could handle the responsibility if given the chance.
“If they let go of Hunter and Taker is physically able to do it, he should be the next head of creative,” Flair said.
However, the WWE legend quickly clarified that his remarks weren’t aimed at replacing Triple H. Instead, he framed it as a hypothetical situation. He noted the realities of the business and the uncertainty that can come with it. “No, no… I’m saying if something happens with Hunter,” he added, acknowledging Triple H’s known health concerns while stressing that “nothing’s guaranteed.”
Flair also reflected on his history with Triple H, particularly their time in Evolution alongside Randy Orton and Batista.
He credited Triple H with helping rebuild his confidence during a difficult stretch in his career. Flair stated that their partnership played a key role in restoring his standing in WWE — a reminder that their bond goes deeper than just backstage politics.
While there’s no indication of any immediate change at the top, Flair’s comments add an interesting wrinkle to the conversation. If creative leadership were ever to change hands, it seems “The Deadman” could be waiting in the wings — ready to take the reins if called upon.
