Jordynne Grace says she got in trouble for her match against Giulia in WWE NXT.
During her recent conversation with Adrian Hernandez on Unlikely, Jordynne Grace recalled her match with reigning Women’s United States Champion Giulia on the May 6, 2025, episode of WWE NXT. She revealed that she got in trouble for using the version of the Michinoku Driver that sees the receiver get spiked on their head.
“I love her, and I’ll give you a little behind-the-scenes information. We got in trouble for that match. They just said it was, I think it was ‘too much.’ So I do the Michinoku Driver, and at the time, listen, I did not know that they don’t do the Michinoku Driver like from Japan here. They do the one where you sit the person out all the way. So I didn’t know that was a thing until after this match,” Jordynne Grace said.
Speaking further, Jordynne Grace noted that she loves wrestling Guilia and hopes to have a match against her on the main roster down the line. She almost got that opportunity on last week’s SmackDown but lost to Tiffany Stratton in their Women’s United States Championship No.1 contender’s match.
“It was not taken very well. But I loved the match. I love wrestling Giulia, she’s awesome, I cannot wait to wrestle her again. Those matches are really the best moments for me, because that’s when the wrestlers really get to feel something. They feel like it’s real. It is real, but it’s like ‘real’ in that moment,” Jordynne Grace said.
Update: Fightful (via Fightful Select) says Grace’s comments about getting in trouble is “putting it lightly.” The outlet added that Grace and Giulia got scolded for the physicality by NXT higher-ups after they came backstage from the match.
