WWE’s Triple H Agrees to New Long-Term Contract Extension

Triple H will be steering the ship at WWE for a few more years, according to a new report.

TKO hosted a virtual town hall on Monday morning. The event saw WWE President Nick Khan announce that Triple H (Paul Levesque) signed a new employment contract to stay on as WWE Chief Content Officer.

According to Fightful (via Fightful Select), it was “heavily implied” that Levesque signed a new long-term deal, but terms were not disclosed. PWInsider.com is also reporting that Levesque signed a new deal, and the outlet says it was told that it’s a “multiple-year deal.” Exact details were not shared, but the contract is “possibly as long as three years” and it was completed prior to Wrestlemania weekend.

“A number of us [TKO President] Mark [Shapiro], [TKO CFO] Andrew [Schleimer], others, were able to get Paul Levesque to extend with us in a multi-year deal,” Khan said (via POST Wrestling). “We’re excited about that. He’s the head of creative amongst other things and has been doing a great job for and with us.”

Other topics during the town hall included Khan addressing social media criticism of Wrestlemania 42. According to those on the call, Khan said that online scrutiny about the quality of each night has come up in the past, but it’s not an effective measure of the event’s success.

In addition, other topics included UFC’s event at the White House, On Location’s work, The World Cup and The Olympics.

Ric Flair knows someone who could succeed Triple H in running WWE creative

It doesn’t appear that Triple H is going anywhere anytime soon. However, Ric Flair weighed in on WWE’s creative direction and the pressure that comes with Triple H’s role. He believes The Undertaker is someone who could step in as a replacement if Triple H ever left WWE.

“If they let go of Hunter and Taker is physically able to do it, he should be the next head of creative,” Flair said on The Ariel Helwani Show.”

Flair quickly clarified that his remarks weren’t aimed at replacing Triple H, but rather as a hypothetical situation.

“No, no… I’m saying if something happens with Hunter,” he added, acknowledging Triple H’s known health concerns while stressing that “nothing’s guaranteed.”
