Tiffany Nieves is excited to show everyone why she’s the center of attention in the NWA.
The National Wrestling Alliance is poised to move to COMET on May 1, starting with a brand-new episode of NWA Powerrr. There, Tiffany Nieves will defend her NWA Women’s Television Championship against Gisele Shaw, a former TNA Knockout and Undisputed British Women’s Champion with REVPRO.
Nieves, aka ‘La Princesa,’ highlighted some of the big opportunities moving to COMET allows NWA talent. This, of course, includes Nieves herself, who says she’s ready to go after the NWA Women’s World Championship now that NWA is on a bigger stage.
“It’s an exciting period because it’s the first time NWA, in thirty years, has been on [broadcast TV]. And not only that, we have a gauntlet coming up. And this is going to be the first time that me, the longest reigning TV Champion, will be putting my title on the line in front of the world, so that’s going to be exciting. It’s not only that we’re going to Comet, it’s the best time for NWA to go to COMET, at least for the women’s division because we are having a TV title on the line, Markova is defending her championship, all of these opportunities.
“I feel like it’s just a grander floor for everyone to see ‘La Princesa’ Tiffany Nieves, this year, become the world champion. I’m talking about the NWA Women’s World Championship and now we’re doing it on broadcast television. I refused to do it anytime before—I love you Roku, I became the TV Champion—I don’t think it’s right to become the best women’s wrestler in history [yet], regardless of what PWI says. 69 out of 250? Baloney! But now that we’re going to COMET, we’re going to be worldwide, everyone is going to win. It’s exactly why I am the best at everything. You don’t need any other logistics, that is number one.”
“I don’t wait for things, I take them,” she added.
Tiffany Nieves compares Gisele Shaw’s career to a dying rose
Despite being a challenger with an impressive resume, Nieves compared Gisele Shaw to a dried-out flower. She also implied that the Maple Leaf Pro star is stepping on her toes a bit.
“I don’t care about Gisele. Just like this rose, she’s dying. She is dying, and no one invited her to come to the National Wrestling Alliance, right? She comes in and the first thing she basically does is recreate history,” Nieves said, pulling off the petals as she pointed out how both were immediately thrust into the title picture.
“Gisele Shaw, you’ve said enough about her. But the point is I’m the longest reigning NWA Women’s TV Champion,” Nieves added. “I have the entire women’s division exactly right where I want them.”
