Shawn Michaels offered a new opportunity to a WWE NXT talent who was cut from the roster.
In the second episode of WWE LFG Season 3, Senior Vice President of Talent Development and NXT creative head Shawn Michaels called in Drake Morreaux to his office. Michaels told Morreaux that he’s been in the system for three years and that the coaches speak highly of him. However, after a certain amount of time, the promotion has to decide how much more time they have to invest in him.
As a result, Shawn Michaels informed Drake Morreaux that his time at the WWE Performance Center had come to an end, and there was no room for him in NXT. As Morreaux looked completely unsettled, hearing the announcement, Michaels revealed that there was a huge opportunity for him at AAA, where he would work with The Undertaker. He then met with The Deadman later in the episode.
It will be interesting to see when Drake Morreaux will appear on AAA television.
Shawn Michaels says being a dad made him a better WWE NXT coach
During his recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, Shawn Michaels was asked whether his coaching role in WWE NXT helped him become a better father. He noted it was the other way around, saying that being a father shaped him into a better coach.
“Well, I think me being a father is probably what’s helped me become a better coach. To be perfectly honest, my kids were a huge part of my life changing. That responsibility made me grow up in a lot of ways, and it also helped me understand the idea of innocence putting its faith in your hands,” Shawn Michaels said.
“That’s one of the responsibilities we take very seriously in NXT. These young men and women come through our doors trusting us to help them achieve their dream of becoming WWE Superstars. It’s something we don’t take lightly.
“So I’d actually say it works the other way around. Being a father has had such a huge impact on my life, and it’s helped me better appreciate the responsibility that comes with the trust these athletes place in us to help them achieve their dreams,” Shawn Michaels said.
