WWE Raw Results:

As the show kicks off, World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns arrives and stomps towards Gorilla. Raw GM Adam Pearce cuts Reigns off and tells him Jacob Fatu isn’t here… yet. Reigns fumes. Seth Rollins walks in and has a staredown with Regins. Rollins tells Reigns he is in his way. Reigns steps aside, and Rollins makes his way to the ring.

He’s a Visionary…

As Rollins walks the ramp, Bron Breakker attacks Rollins from behind. Breakker beats down Rollins before being pulled away by security. Breakker beats up a few of the security guards. As Breakker walks to the back, he makes a break (pun intended) for the ring and Spears Rollins out of his boots. The crowd begs for another, but Breakker, in true heel fashion, doesn’t give the crowd what they want.

Grade: B

Great opening segment. With multiple segments already planned for contract signings, this writer appreciates not having this show start with a long Rollins promo. Breakker did the lord’s work here tonight.

Finn Bálor vs. JD McDonagh w/ Dominik Mysterio

Bálor is in control early. McDonagh gets in some brief offense after a distraction and a cheap shot by Mysterio. McDonagh goes low on Bálor, injuring his knee. Bálor manages a basement dropkick and sends McDonagh flying over the top with a clothesline. While Bálor sets up a dive, Mysterio grabs Bálor’s leg. In the confusion, McDonagh attacks Bálor from behind. Roxanne Perez walks down to the ring.

After the break, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez also walk to ringside. After another distraction from Mysterio, McDonagh surprises Bálor with a nasty Spanish fly. Bálor kicks out. Mysterio gets caught cheating and gets ejected from ringside. McDonagh tries his moonsault, but Bálor gets his knees up. Woo dropkick by Bálor. Morgan distracts the referee, while Perez hits Bálor with the timekeeper’s hammer. McDonagh nails Bálor with a headbutt. McDonagh claps on Bálor and gets the three count.

Winner- JD McDonagh

Grade: C+

Solid TV match. This had to have a nutty amount of outside interference with so many storylines currently surrounding the Judgment Day. It had to happen, but this made for a slightly tough watch.

Penta and Je’Von Evans vs. Rusev and Ethan Page

After a back-and-forth contest, Evans tries to put Page Rusev through the commentary desk, but Page pushes Evans off the top. Rusev suplexes Penta on the commentary desk and tosses him back into the ring. Page hits a release fisherman’s suplex for the win.

Winners- Rusev and Ethan Page

Grade: B-

Solid TV match. Page is racking up wins and may be the guy that takes the IC title off Penta. Even money says this happens at SummerSlam.

Raw Contract Signing

Raw GM Pearce is in the ring and introduces Raw’s newest signee, Sol Ruca. Pearce hands Ruca the contract. The crowd chants for Ruca. Ruca says it’s going to feel so good to sign this and officially become a part of Monday Night Raw. Before Ruca can sign, Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch, interrupts. Lynch yells at Pearce because this is supposed to be her TV time for her championship celebratrion. Lynch goes on and on.

Ruca asks Lynch is done and tells her not everything is about her. Lynch notes that Ruca is new, so she doesn’t know that everything actually is about her. Ruca says she didn’t know that Lynch was a big-headed, b*tch. And it’s not just the New York Times saying it… Lynch asks who she is. Ruca says she’s Sol Ruca and if Lynch interrupts her again, she’ll kick Lynch’s @$$ and snatch her soul. Lynch tries to punch Ruca, but ends up hitting Pearce. Pearce is livid. Pearce leaves, Ruca slips, but manages to drop Lynch with the Sol Snatcher.

Grade: B

This was a great segment. Ruca held her own on the mic with Lynch, with is somewhat surprising. Unfortunately, Ruca slipped on the Sol Snatcher for what feels like the first time ever.

Joe Hendry vs. Austin Theory w/Logan Paul

Before the match, Hendry sings the “Fire Logan Paul” song. Paul goes nuts. Theroy attacks Hendry, but gets clotheslined over the top. After a distraction from Paul, Theory takes over. Hendry fires up, but before he can hit the Standing Ovation, Paul attacks him from behind. The referee calls for a disqualification.

Winner- Joe Hendry

After the match, Paul and Theory beat down Hendry. The Street Profits make the save. Bron Breakker saves Theory from the Doomsday Blockbuster. Breakker tosses Ford clear over the top. Dawkins eats a Stienerline. Breakker sets up a Spear, but Seth Rollins hops the barricade and attacks Breakker. Rollins gets distracted as Ford leaps over him and the top turnbuckle and lands on everyone outside the ring. Breakker cuts an unsuspecting Rollins in half with a Spear.

Grade: B+

All of this was very well done. The best thing about this is the interconnected storylines. This was chaos, and it will be interesting to see if they pay off Ford being the reason Breakker was able to get another one over on Rollins.

Oba Femi Open Challenge

The crowd chants as Oba Femi war struts his way to the ring. Tozawa acts like he is going to accept the challenge, but he comes to his senses. Otis accepts the Open Challenge.

Oba Femi vs. Otis

Femi runs into Otis. Otis doesn’t budge. After taking turns running into each other, Femi destroys Otis with a roaring European uppercut. Femi picks Otis up with ease and tosses Otis across the ring with a pizza toss. Femi calls for the fall from Grace, but motions to the crowd that he isn’t sure if he can get Otis up. Mr. Big Brain over here, Femi sets Otis on the second rope, and uses the lift to hit Otis with a massive Fall From Grace for the win.

Winner- Oba Femi

Grade: A

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? This writer has seen enough. Give Femi ALL THE TITLES!

Backstage, Rollins argues with Ford. Rollins tells the Street Profits and Joe Hendry they are all fighting the same fight, but they need to stay out of each other’s way.

OG El Grande Americano and Los Hermanos Americanos vs. El Grande Americano and Los Americanos

OG Americano eventually pins Bravo after a diving headbutt.

Winners- OG El Grande Americano and Los Hermanos Americanos

Grade: C+

Both teams played hard…

World Championship Contract Signing

The World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is out first. GM Pearce is in the ring with the contract. The number one contender Jacob Fatu is out next. Fatu and Reigns have a staredown across the table. Reigns tells the crowd to acknowledge him. The crowd obliges, as is tradition. Reigns says that’s not just love, that’s respect. Reigns goes on and on about respect. There’s got to be code, a system of conduct for their family. Reigns is annoyed that Fatu used the Tongan Death Grip on him. That’s for desperate times. You don’t do that to your Tribal Chief. Fatu says he is desperate, so he has no choice but to take Reigns out and take everything that comes with it.

Fatu says he’s going to put a chokehold on this company and squeeze all the money out of it he can, just like this company has done to their family for years. Reigns signs the contract. Reigns says Fatu is worried about his seven kids, when Reigns is worried about 107 kids; everyone in the family. All of this is belongs to Reigns. In their family, they are equals, but in this ring, Fatu is beneath him. Fatu lunges at Reigns and tries to lock him in the Tongan Death Grip. Reigns fights Fatu off. Reigns tries a Superman Punch and gets locked in the Grip. Pearce tries to pull Fatu off of Reigns, but Fatu puts Reigns through the table in the ring (sorta, it didn’t break. Bad table.)

Grade: B

This one was in danger of going on too long. Fatu doing the low tone promo was a choice that this writer isn’t sure worked completely. Despite that, Reigns carried the verbal side of this for both of them. The action afterward was well done, with the focus on making the Tongan Death Grip over as a devastating move that even the Samoans are afraid of. So far, that’s working quite well.
