John Cena is really building the anticipation for his big announcement this weekend.
Cena is set to appear at WWE Backlash this weekend in Tampa. Cena previously teased that he was coming to Backlash to “break some history-making news.” Now, Cena posted another video ahead of the premium live event and offered another tease about his announcement.
According to Cena, he will “shock the very foundation of WWE” with his announcement. Cena also said that this would affect everyone, from WWE’s fans to its talent.
“WWE Universe! Hey, John Cena here, standing in Thunder Alley outside of Benchmark International Arena in Tampa Bay. In just a few days, I have a major announcement inside this building that is going to shock the very foundation of WWE, from its fans to its Superstars, from its champions down to its rookies,” John Cena said. “I’m so grateful Tampa is allowing me the place to make this announcement. Thank you, WWE, see you live on ESPN in the States and Netflix around the world, but don’t miss Backlash! I’m so excited, and I’ll see you there.”
Cena previously revealed that his next chapter with WWE would be to play a significant role in the promotion’s new premium membership program, Club WWE. In an earlier tease, Cena mentioned he’s planning something epic at Backlash regarding the new initiative, making it likely that the announcement could be related to the new subscription program.
