Dana White Fires Back at Claim His UFC Power Shielded Him After Wife Slapping Incident

Dana White recently commented on an issue that arose in 2023 in which he was seen slapping his wife, and whether or not he believes his status in UFC saved him from any consequences.

During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, White was asked whether he believes his role as the head of UFC protected him from any consequences from the incident.

“Definitely not,” said White when host Charlamagne tha God said that he “definitely” got a benefit from it. “There’s a board of directors, there are other people that are involved that could have pushed for that but, yeah. I think, and obviously they think too, it would have hurt the company more if I did step away.”

In 2023, a clip emerged of White and his wife arguing at a New Year’s Eve party, in which White slapped his wife after she slapped him. White apologized for the actions, but no formal punishment ever came from it. According to White, he doesn’t believe his status had anything to do with it.

At the time, White said he “owned” the matter, but also said that stepping away from UFC for a brief amount of time would only hurt the company, so no action was taken.
