Ronda Rousey reveals Dana White‘s reaction to her upcoming fight with Gina Carano on Netflix.
During her recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, MMA legend Ronda Rousey noted that when she last spoke to UFC President Dana White, he asked if the rumors about her facing boxing superstar Katie Taylor in Las Vegas this year were true.
Rousey then revealed that she gave UFC and White a chance to counter when she was negotiating with Netflix for her upcoming fight with Gina Carano. However, she noted that he couldn’t do anything since he was legally bound “to maximize shareholder value.”
“I think last time I heard from him, he was asking me if those Katie Taylor rumors were true and stuff like that,” Ronda Rousey began. “And then I hit him up because when I was with Netflix, and I gave him a chance to counter, but I feel like Dana is legally bound to maximize shareholder value, and it’s nothing that he can do. He’s just trying to maximize shareholder value.”

Ronda Rousey then revealed that Dana White wished her the best for her MMA return, and reassured her that their relationship would remain the same.
“But so then when I went and said, ‘Okay, I’m going with Netflix,’ and all this stuff, and I was like, ‘I want you to know I love and appreciate you, and I don’t want you ever to think like… I hope that we’re good.’ And he was so gracious and sweet and was like, ‘I love you. We’re always going to be good. I want you to be so successful at this.’ He’s just always been an incredible friend every step of the way, and it’s just business, and he gets it, and I get it,” Ronda Rousey said.
